Inside the top of the tube is a smaller one, offset with some holes in one side. This represents a circular baffle and the path to the downward part of the tube is through the holes. I installed a piece of pipe that blocked off the holes. I then installed my PCV in the top cover. the lower piece is completely blocked off. This system works perfectly for me.
