Mike C in another post mentioned this fellow down in Florida that restores AD trucks for a living. His business is Purple Monkey Kustoms. Sells mostly on Ebay and appears to do nice work. You can google if interested. He has a facebook page, but I don't do FB. I am intrigued at what equipment a company would need for such a venture. I found the attached youtube video showing his work. I'm pretty sure he is using a $10 HF gun, the cab and everything else is sitting on home made saw horses, the enclosure appears to be metal siding with a fan in the corner to vent fumes outside. No fancy filtering mechanisms. Lighting is simple $3/ea variety with incandescent bulbs. Wiring is not in conduit. He is wearing a respirator. I doubt this shop is up to local Commercial codes, but it could be. I'm not even sure he has to be. The point to me is that you can get very good results with not a lot of investment and some ingenuity. Particularly if you're only going to do 1 or 2 of these old trucks. You can do good work, be safe and not spend a fortune.
