Never messed with one, but I'd start by checking where the power cord connects to it. Might be just a cord with a broken internal wire. If it has an on-off switch. That would be my next check.
After that (especially if it has a circuit board attached), the next step would be break out the HF 3-lb hammer and use that on it.
Fixing electronic stuff just isn't worth the time.
