The trick to a roped in windshield is the rope you use, and having at least another set of hands on the outside of the truck to help keep pressure and to watch for the gasket set to seal up and over the lip/frame. I would start by working the gasket set around the glass. Place your rope/string around the correct channel in the rubber. (start the rope in the middle bottom and go around the channel back to where you started from) Lay the glass/rubber/rope into the frame. position the gasket as close to "installed" as you can. Have someone on the outside place both hands over the glass with medium pressure. As you slowly pull the rope, have the guy outside move his hands over the spot that the rubber is sealing at the frame. You may need to have a sharp little pick or something to help aid the rope in getting the correct seal on the rubber gasket. Work the gasket into the channel as you pull the rope. If you are having a terrible time with it, pay a professional to install it with you/for you. They have urethane sealant to keep out the rain and make a great seal (if done correctly) Another trick is to buy some silicone spray, but I would NOT use it because it takes a long time to wear away and will actually help the windshield to pop back out if you get in a wreck (God forbid) It's a fine line between enough pressure to get it to seal and too much pressure which can crack the windshield.
