Have you tried a local sign shop that does vinyl decals? My neighbor restores vintage lawn tractors and often cannot find original decals so he takes pictures of the originals and takes them to the sign shop who scans them in their computer and cleans up the image. They then print out a sheet of them on vinyl or whatever media. They can even create metal tags/decals. Your picture looks pretty clean so I think they could use that as a template. Think it only cost him $15-20 for a sheet. Heck, you could sell the extras on ebay and recoup your cost.
