Just to add to what has already been said, my kids gave me a Harbor Freight 110V MIG welder (Flux core) and it is really difficult to work with. It will tack weld fine, but the wire doesn't feed at a consistent rate, so longer welds are more difficult. I talk to several other amateurs on a budget like myself and they all wish they had spent the extra to buy a name brand welder.
