John, you may be in uncharted waters with what you are trying to accomplish. Sometimes one needs to be the "Christopher Columbus" and go for it.
I couldn't find anyone who had ever tried to fit a 54 hood on a 47-53 truck, so I went ahead and did it. Fit like a glove, and now everyone on this site can do a search and find out that it fits.
