A car friend located a new under bed tank on a Studabaker truck and his new filler neck had a number of bends to reach the original filler hole. He had a trick up his sleeve I had never seen before.
He took a piece of scrap heater duct hose and bent it to the configuration he needed. He then filled the duct hose with that 'insulation in a can'. He let it harden, removed the hose, then took it to a muffler shop and they bent a piece of pipe to match it. It looked N.O.S.
I filed that trick away in the old memory bank for the future.
