Hello, The purpose is, eventually I'm putting a pretty stout v-8 in my truck and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the twelve bolt a lot stronger rear end than the stock one I have? Also the twelve bolt is a posi trac. I'll have to do some measuring for sure, just thought I could get an answer from some one who's already done it. Like Nomad02 said, I also thought I read that somewhere. I never realized what odd balls the 60-62 trucks are till I got mine, but I still love it, nothing like just driving it around.
