For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 192 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 192 | i have a 1962 235 hydraulic lifter engine that i bought last year from a guy who pulled it out of his 1958 Chevy car. i am planning on running it on a test stand. it came with a 12 volt generator and starter. it also has a Delco Remy coil. i dont know if there might have been a firewall mounted coil resistor on the guys car or if the coil has an internal resistor. i plan on running this engine on 12 volts, and i don't want to burn up the points. how can i tell whether or not to run a resistor to the coil? thanks | | |
