Use the 216 water pump, or a early 235 (pre-1954) water pump with the pulley groove that matches your generator and harmonic balancer. The 1953 and later fan belt was 3/8", and the earlier fan belt was 5/8". Tim 1954Advance-Design.com 1954 3106 Carryall Suburban 1954 3104 5-window pickup w/Hydra-Matic The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.
