The only difference is the lack of holes in the side for the 3100 emblem, and the four holes at the nose for the front emblem are flush rather than recessed like the '47-'53 hoods. I am using the '54 emblem, but I can't see why a '47-'53 emblem wouldn't work. The four holes are in the same locations on both hoods.
