nm51-its definately Chinese, Chicago Electric brand(haha),,has plastic rollers on the wire drive. it powered up & for $40 I felt I couldn't go wrong. I think they are usually around $200, well worth that IMO. I have welded up two truck floors & now working on a burb w/it. brian
