I will add something here to this discussion. I use 16" rims on my 51 1 Ton and they fit over the drums etc. The space between the rear drum and the wheel is fairly small. I don't carry loads with my truck so this works out fine for me. If I had it loaded to the max or over and did some driving down steep hills, I am not sure there would be adequate cooling for the rear drums.
