Hi All,
So, I took apart my alternator to paint it. While putting it back together I realized the pulley shaft thread got messed up a bit. I ran a file over it and now the nut goes on good. The problem is now when I tighten the pulley nut down, the fan get locked down onto the casting and it will not rotate because it is tight up against the casting. If I leave it loose, the pulley spins without turning the fan. What did I do wrong? Did I resess the bearing on the front halve to far in?
