First off sorry for the duplicate posts. When I went looking for the original it wasn't there and thought I had not hit the submit button before xing out (this has happened before blush ), so posted a again. After the second post I noticed the Mods message that he had put it in the doors specific area.
So after not getting any replies I fiddled with it and decided that drilling might be best. I found a 1/2" bit in my drill drawer that had a low pitch. It worked great drilling down to the bottom of the spot weld depressions I was able to pry the old pieces off leaving very little sticking up. I'll no doubt need to clean it up a little but will wait till the new dovetail arrives, the holes in the new one maybe big enough to go over the nubs left behind. I'll see if I can manage to post some pics for future reference with before and after once I'm done.
