| | | | Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 166 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 166 | My PPG dealer recommends putting epoxy primer over the bare metal, then do your body work on top of it. They say it keeps any moisture from getting to the metal through the filler and primer coats. Also when done sanding and feathering, reapply epoxy primer over any bare metal spots. This has worked on my cab. I used this technique and no rust after 2 years. My plan is to paint the cab this summer. I used PPG DP60 epoxy primer & PPG K36 fill primer over it. | | |
