For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 24 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 24 | I am starting my first project and have a 46 1/2 ton with a 235 out of a 53 Bel Air. I'm working on the cooling system and have discovered that the connections are different sizes and am having difficulty finding replacement hoses. Both upper and lower connections on the radiator measure 1.5 in, but the water pump measures 1.25 in and the thermostat housing measures 1 in. I'm not sure what to use, should I try to find some tapered hoses or am I thinking about it too much. The old hoses are ~13 inches long and appear to be the same diameter on each end and just tightened down to the smaller diameter on the engine with hose clamps. Any help / reference would be helpful.
Thanks! | | |
