Another option is to use an electro hydraulic power steering pump. They mount anywhere and the hoses run to the gear box just like ones from a belt driven pump. We used Toyota MR2 ones till they got scarce and very pricey. Now ones for a Mazda 3 can be found on ebay in the $100-$200 dollar range.
