Thanks guys! I am not doing a period correct resto. Did the 46 just have the fender gasket?

Seems to me if you put the welting in on top, of or under the gasket, it would defeat the purpose as it would leave a small gap between fender and bed. That's why I thought the welting should only be pinched.
