The mid-1970's Volvo B30 engine was an inline six with Bosch electronic fuel injection. The injectors were triggered by a set of dual points riding on a cam on the distributor shaft below the breaker plate. If you can find one of those distributors you might be able to use it to fire the injectors with a minimal amount of electronics. The Volvo had a batch injection system where three injectors fired at once, and the other three were triggered on the next turn of the crankshaft. I owned a 1974 Volvo 164 with that system, and it was reliable, and spooky fast for a 4-door sedsn.
