For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 21 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 21 | I have a situation where my 1/2 ton original frame is just about had it,rust, stress cracks and cracked crossmember. Heres the delimma, i bought a 3/4 ton truck for the cab and other vital parts. It did come with a complete redone and painted frame but i had no real liking for the longer frame and where i live well selling it would not be easy. Has anyone shortened them for the 116 inch wheel base for the 1/2 ton, i know there is some re fit work for parking brake, hangers, drive shaft, running boards etc.Has anyone done this and how do i go about it. I have whatched newer c10's ( 69/70) done from long box to short box and i do have a certified welder in my area that can do the proper work. Please help!
