To other members: if modern precision bearings are used in a 1954 235/261 block, is plastigauge measurement/adjustment necessary? That procedure is still shown in the 1955-2nd series Truck Shop Manual. However, the 1956 Truck Shop Manual states that shim adjustment is no longer necessary (due to the introduction of precision bearings?). | | |
