I have noticed that after I shut my 1949 Chevrolet 1/2 truck down (216 cu.in.) after idling 15-20 minutes that the temperature gauge goes up to 212 degrees. Is this normal? While it is running the temp stays between 180 and 190. New aluminum radiator, new hoses, new 160 degree thermostat, new 14.5" cooling fan. Flushed the system and got a bunch of sludge from the engine drain. Ran water trough until it all ran clear. 50/50 antifreeze mixture. Checked for leaks and no leaks detected. Any ideas?
