If I remember right---- you can use the 1955, 56, and 57 chevy car, or truck v8 bellhousing, as they have the side mounts, or you will have to build a cross member for the side mounts of the v8 and a crossmember for the tailshaft of the transmission. The 51 transmission will bolt up to the 55 56 57 bellhousing.
