Now I am really confused... The flywheel is from my original 216 engine which I pulled out for the 235 per Patricks' I sent the original from the 216 to Chevys of 40s to be rebuilt. According to Deves Tech, "both ( 6 and 12 volt starters ) have 6 teeth but the pitch is different".. so you are saying that the starter drive gear should have 9 teeth? I do not have a solenoid on the starter that was sent to me. Scott
