590874 is a 1937-39 truck 3 speed. The passenger car 3 speed would be much to short.

The input shaft design on Chevrolet's are the same from 1931 to the 80's. The shop is missing something.
The front bearing retainer did change in 1938 when Chevrolet changed to a ball bearing throw out bearing.
