Here's where I became confused. :confused: Yes, 848 heads were factory heads on 56-57 models, but the compression ratio of that head was not as great as the compression ratio of the 58-62 heads. As I have learned from of my Vintage Chevrolet Club of America friends, in 56-57, the compression ratio of the 848 head was 8:1. In 59-62, the 848 head compression was raised to 8.25:1

, thus making the 58-62 848 head the highest compression ratio head. Therein, is where I became confused. :confused: :confused: Sorry!! I, personally, would still walked past a 56-57 in a bone yard and go to the 58-62 848 head.
