If you want to be creative, make the plate in 2 halves, top & bottom.
Now mill out a labyrinth in the upper surface of the thicker bottom plate making the longest path between where the 2 fittings will be placed.
Longer path = more heat delivered to the manifold.
Too hot? Restrict the water hose in 1 line.
