Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 97 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 97 | I have the original manual hydraulic drum and shoe system on front (drum & shoe from '69 Camaro on rear) but am considering converting front brakes to disc for safety.
1. I know I'll have to convert to a dual master cylinder, but will I also need some sort of power assist?
2. My brake lines appear to be 13/64 inch outside diameter (I don't have a tool to measure precisely so I'm comparing to a drill bit diameter); will I have to replace them for a different size?
3. I want to leave rear brakes as drums, but brake light is activated by a flow or pressure sensor in the brake line; will I need to do anything to that or my rear brake hoses since I'll be increasing the overall pressure of the system?
4. Any recommended sources for upgrade kits?
Thanks, Mike | | |
