Final Update I hope:
The problem was simple and embarrassing but I don't care I just drove the truck down the road and I don't know who was happier me or the truck.
Took the mechanic all day Thursday to find the electrical problem. It turns out the ignition wire from switch to positive side of the coil was burnt or broken on the inside thus the intermittent spark no spark readings.
Then once they got that fixed the vacuum advance was not working correctly from one of the carbs and fuel was building up. I had a spare carb and installed this morning and it's all good.
I must say that the Fenton headers and the new dual carb set up make quite a difference in the way she runs and sounds.
Thanks so much for all the help and advice.
