So i removed the t5 yesterday. The inside of the trans still look clean. The new blocker rings I installed during the rebuild still have perfect teeth and the insides of them are not worn out.The tips of the teeth on the second gear look ever so slightly worn but i don't have a new gear to compare to so it hard to tell how bad it can be. I did notice that when testing the blocker ring on the second gear on the bench even when i was pushing them together hard i was still able to get the blocker ring to somewhat slip and rotate. I have not measured the exact gap between the blocker and 2nd but there is still lots of room left and the blocker is not bottoming out.

One thing i did notice is that the tip of the input shaft that rides in the pilot bushing looks like it has a tight fit. It is gulled. every once in a while i would have an issue with grinding into reverse also so that could explain that.

Do you think the slight dragging of the shaft could be whats causing the grinding into second only at the high rpms?
