the motor is pretty easy to take apart, clean, and relube. It should work better once doing that, although not as good as an electric motor. I had vacuum wipers on my Willys wagon. Drove it as a daily driver (in Seattle, known for rain!) and wheeled all over with it. I never got around to installing electric in the 18 years we had it. I did clean and re-lube the wiper motor a couple times though.
