A new filter did not fix it. I am thinking there is still some blockage in the carb that prevents sufficient gas getting in to keep it filled. I neglected to mention that the first time this happened I removed the glass bowl on the filter and gas squirted out - it was under pressure (engine off). Time to take the carb off again!
