Regarding the last picture - I don't know what these are - they don't seem to be related to the headliner because the headliner frames and hardware are all present. A portion of the front headliner is intact.
Those pieces are related to the headliner. There are 8 of them and they go above the cardboard from bow to bow to keep the cardboard from sagging. The only evidence you'll see from the passenger compartment is a small button here and there.
One of these days I will find me a source for these side panel metal surround trim.
