I'm getting ready to wire up my heater in my 51 and have a few questions. I checked the motor by supplying 12v briefly using my power probe and it spins. I purchased a 12v to 6v inline voltage reducer, first question:
1) when I supplied 12v to the reducer it read 12v on the other end with my volt meter, does that sound correct? Is there a direction for the reducer? Does it need a load to work?
2) I didn't use the reducer and ran the heater briefly and it spun for about 5-10 seconds and stopped. I checked my 15 amp fuse and it had blown. What amperage fuse should I be using?
3) I'm assuming running the heater on 12v would eventually ruin it?
