Sounds like I need to find out if I have a 6v or 12v starter.

How does one tell if the starter is not tagged with a label stating 6v or 12v ?

The ring gear is chewed up in one area. Are they readily available ?

The truck has not been started in many years.. maybe 7-10 years so I dont really know is this ring gear will be ok.
