I bought a "Retro-Sound" unit for my 51 panel.
They have an dash insert just for 47-53s ... don't know about yours, but their
controls knobs are separate from the main unit, so it can be adapted to virtually any
configuration.
It can accommodate a mini jack for iPads, etc. and a USB port.
Mine's been in for 5 years and works great.
