Hi, bert, I have the same problem up here on the wet (west) coast of Canada. What happens is when the truck is turned off the points are open and they oxidise. You need to clean the points with a point file or use about 600 grit wet and dry sandpaper used wet with contact cleaner (can also use brake clean, acetone etc.)
