While surfing, I came across this idea for preventing rust while work is in progress. Sounded reasonable. Use 1 cup of dry type (Cascade) dishwasher detergent in a ? 1qt/1ltr sprayer, make sure the detergent is disolved, spray your clean metal. The guy using it said it wotked great, thought it was the soap that sealed it. However another fellow came up with the fact that there is a petroleum component to the soap. I'm a ways off from that, but I'll sure keep it in mind.
