This is on my '40 so don't know if it is helpful. I added some pictures to my fuse panel album showing a bracket I made up. It uses the bolts that hold the dash brace going down at the steering column. The fuse panel is meant to bolt on to whatever so I welded a couple of nuts to my bracket. I wanted it up out of sight. I didn't feel there was enough room on the kick panel either.
