The client insisted on an automatic trans and they don't come with PTO's. The grain truck lift had to be fitted with an electric motor in order to keep working. The original lift was an "all in one unit" and worked fine so there was no reason to start changing out pumps and valves. I bought a universal hydraulic pump motor large enough to work, welded a mounting plate on and linked the motor to the pump shaft with double reduction gears. The pump turned too fast for direct drive (most PTO speeds are very low) and that reduced the load on the motor. I attached a switch to the lever that controlled the valve, added a solenoid to power the motor when the control cable was pulled and added a big yellow top secondary battery to power the pump as well as an electric loading winch. works great. | | |
