I'm at the stage where it's time to re-store the bed wood, sinse i'm aiming back to factory original shape, the bed wood on my '60 GMC fleet was gloss black (laquer), what do you folks think of the black bed or Fancy stained/varnished bed?

It's wayyyyyy cheaper to just use dry pine with the black gloss paint, but you know how it goes (what another 100.00 buck, i'v went this far)

Any of you decided to go with the black bed bottom?
