I have been messing with my early 47 EC GMC 1.5 ton dump truck. While getting it nearly ready to perform a little work, I noticed that the 8 hole wheels, on my truck are dated, 12-46. Is that typical? I hear talk but don't really have my own information to rely on. During the mid to late 40's, when did GM shift model years? Did that date float or was it a constant. Maybe coming out of WW2 had some effect? From my serial number can anyone date my truck accurately? I am sure (my hunch) that my truck was built some time during the first quarter of 47. | | |
