Just pulled the 986771 radio from my 54 Chev 3100. It was not wired up so not sure that it works. The truck was converted to 12 Volt prior to my ownership. I just got the 6V fuel gauge working (now using Runtz reducer) so I'm not sure if the radio is now 12V or still 6V. The radio seems to have been worked on and now has a 4" round speaker attached to the 6" x 9" grill area. It also has new a vintage type cloth yellow and gray wire with spade connectors coming from the front of the unit and over the top toward the rear. These look like they have never been connected. I removed the back cover of the radio and it still has original tubes and other parts. Looking through the small holes in the front cover I can see new orange caps and parts as if it has been worked on. Is there a way to bench test the radio out of the truck to see if it works and if it is 6V or 12 V?
Thanks,
Jim
