| | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 38 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 38 | I switched to an alternator on my 1958 261, went with Fenton duals, and a water pump adapter plate to center the fan on the radiator. I'm trying different belts and brackets, and just wonder if someone can tell me how close is too close for the alternator to be to the exhaust manifold? Is there a recommended distance for consideration of the heat? What specific belt or bracket did you use?
