no it won't work, the only way to "save presets" is to keep the radio powered [with the correct size fuse] - a radio will always have a ground, even with the battery removed from the vehicle, it's the positive side that prevents the radio computer from losing its mind, and that's why the radio will kill your battery with a period of sitting
