The cabs are all the same but all the sheet metal forward of the firewall is different.
The 5000 Series is a COE. A 6500 is a long wheelbase (179"), the 6400 is more common. It is a conventional two ton.
'54s also went to the one piece windshield so the inside dash is completely different from '47-53.
'31 Chevy 1 1/2 ton, '42 GMC 2 1/2 ton 6x4, '52 GMC 2 1/2 ton 6x6, '53 GMC 5 ton
