If your "refurbishing skills" are exhausted, search for a refurbished cluster or save up for a new digital cluster($600). As pointed out, there are two issues, the gauge and the "senders". I don't know what is wrong with your existing cluster. Just be sure you know if gauges are bad or "senders" or, as said, GROUNDING problems. The proper thing to do is bench test senders and gauges before install. Temp, oil, gas, ammeter.
