Is that $650 hub to hub ex the rack? Sounds like a deal if so.
As I was looking over your nice work, and anticipating the very same myself for my 54, man it sure seems like a good time to box the rest of that frame. Not sure what you're planning with the rest of the driveline, but if you're dropping a big V8 in it, we sure hear a lot in the hot rod world of these old frames twisting and turning when hot rodded. I just watched a Bitchin rides segment where the shop swapped out a stock frame with a fully boxed Art Morrison in an $80K show car to get an IFS and avoid frame twist. Don't sweat it if you've already decided against it.
It was $650 less than the big name company's ,for a coil over IFS. I am happy with the quality of the kit. I'm not going to box the whole frame, just where it is needed to add the IFS and in the back if I decide to do a 4 link and coilovers back their. No big bock for this old ride.doing more of a resto-mod. I'm using a 235 with a custom ground cam and Fenton headers.Nothing wrong with a V8 ,and it's cheap HP,but now days that is what many are doing.I want a little different kind of hot rod than the others.Just going to be a truck to take to cruise in's and maybe a few local car shows, but not a trailer queen.I am not putting that much detail in it.The parts are getting painted as I go,but only the body panels will get worked down to be nice as I can make them. The rest just cleaned and painted.
